Frame is the term used to represent any external protection. Frames were originally used as architectural ornaments in kingdoms, temples and churches. The materials initially used were wood, marble and metal. When made of wood, it was carved by hand and painted or covered with gold.

Nowadays they are produced in series, with industrialized machinery especially dedicated to their production. Wood continues to be more used among other materials, and wood derivatives (MDF, MDP) are also used. But other materials are used as: EPS (Expanded Polystyrene), plastics, aluminum, plaster and even concrete (widely used in house facades, windowsills, among others.)

The production of artistic frames can be mentioned: cutting the tree (from reforestation), processing, drying, machining (takes the shape of the frame) and later finishing the frame that can use various machines or raw materials such as; Plaster, pyrography, mass engraving, painting, hot stamping, sanding, a series of processes can be applied according to the required finish and the customer's taste.
